Via Rail says most of its employees impacted by service suspensions related to February’s blockades will be back on the job Saturday as the majority of services resume.
That’s not the case for Via’s Prince Rupert-Prince George-Jasper route which remains suspended as the company works with rail line owner CN.
Earlier this week, CN called back most of the 450 eastern network workers temporarily laid off due to blockades.
At the height of Via service suspensions, about 1000 Via Rail workers were off the job.
On Sunday, Wet’suwet’en Hereditary leaders reached a tentative agreement on rights and title with B.C. and federal government officials.
