Prince Rupert is taking steps to ensure the health and safety of the public.
All public facilities will be closed as of 4:30 p.m. today. This includes, City Hall, the Fire Department Customer Service area, Recreation Facility and the public works yard. Council meetings will be closed to the public until further notice, but will be broadcast through Citywest and the Prince Rupert website. Landfill access will be closed to the general public, however garbage pick up services will continue. The Prince Rupert Public Library will also be closed until further notice.
Although City Hall remains open there are further precautions being put into place including limiting the number of customers in the customer service area to 2. The City of Prince Rupert has also set up a page that has all of their service impacts listed on their website.
