A major public service announcement from Interior Health regarding the emergency department of a hospital in Clearwater was just released.
The residents of Clearwater and the surrounding area are being advised that the emergency department of the Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital will be on diversion starting at 6 tonight and it will end at 7 tomorrow morning.
In other words, the hospital’s emergency room will not be able to safely accommodate another patient until tomorrow morning.
Interior Health expressed their regret of the fact that such actions had to be taken but if any resident near the hospital needs serious medical attention, the other nearest hospital is the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops at 311 Columbia Street.
