Back on Sunday, an officer of the Kitimat RCMP was able respond to a complaint about a sexual image extortion case.
A man in Kitimat had gotten in contact with someone online who he believed to be a woman and proceeded to engage in a sexual act.
The woman then demanded that the man give her money and threatened to put a sexual image of him out on the internet if he did not comply.
Right now, this case is still ongoing and the Kitimat RCMP are recommending that residents take precautionary measures to avoid all types of online extortion.
