Crews at the LNG Canada site in Kitimat have been busy over the past month, surpassing a major milestone, and beginning work on another.
This week, crews began installation of a temporary submersible pump on the bed of the Kitimat River.
Located downstream from the existing River Water Intake, the pump will supply water for the upcoming LNG Storage Tank hydrostatic test.
It will also feed early commissioning activities, and expected to be removed early next year.
That work comes just one week after crews from the JCG Flour BC LNG Joint Venture finished installation of the project’s first bridge module.
In addition to helping to transport LNG between the Storage Tank and processing train one, it will also connect the train with the required utilities.
According to the contractor, the bridge is the culmination of many years of collaboration and planning within the joint venture, formed to undertake the project.
