Sebastian, a beloved 17-year-old Indigenous youth, was brutally killed in November 2023 while trying to protect his cousin from an abusive partner. Despite clear evidence, including video footage and multiple witnesses, Crown Counsel recently decided to drop all charges, citing text messages prior to the incident as a basis for their decision. The family, who had been assured by the RCMP that there was enough evidence to proceed with charges, feels the case has been unfairly dismissed.
The Moore family believes the decision to not move forward with the case is unjust and may be influenced by systemic biases.
