The You Are Somebody (YAS) Youth Conference is back this fall, and registration is now open.
Set for September 26th and 27th at the Kitsumkalum Community Hall in Terrace, the conference is designed to encourage, uplift, and empower young people through a vibrant mix of music, speakers, workshops, and cultural activities.
This year’s event will feature keynote appearances by former Miss Universe Canada Ashley Callingbull, hip hop artist Ndidi Cascade, Smudge the Blades founder Harlan Kingfisher, and Vancouver Indigenous Fashion Week founder Joleen Mitton. Returning as emcee is Madelaine McCallum.
New in 2025 are interactive, hands-on workshops to keep youth engaged in a fun and creative environment. Musical performers include EarthxStar and SHUB.
Admission is just $20, but organizers warn that seating is limited and expect it to sell out quickly. Group registration is available by email.
The YAS conference is a drug- and alcohol-free event focused on creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive space for youth to connect and be inspired.
