Burn Bans on Category 2 and 3 open fires will be going into effect at noon across the entire Cariboo Fire Centre tomorrow, including on Tsilhqot’in lands.
All Category 2 and 3 fires currently burning in the Cariboo must be extinguished by noon tomorrow, April 23rd, and will be prohibited until October 31st, or further notice. The prohibitions are also in effect for the Cariboo Chilcotin Forest District, the 100 Mile House Forest District and the Quesnel Forest District.

Similar to the planned fire bans in the Smithers area, campfires, portable cooking devices and outdoor stoves permitted under the Wildfire Regulations are still allowed under the current burn restrictions.
