There has been an update in the ongoing search for two men wanted in connection with a murder in Lanark County Ontario, one of whom is believed to be travelling through or possibly camping in remote backcountry areas of British Columbia.
Ontario Provincial Police, who are leading the investigation into the killing of 34-year-old Christo Allison Richards of Ottawa this past April, have updated the arrest warrants issued for 34-year-old Joseph Madore and 28-year-old Brayton Kennedy, with both men now wanted for first-degree murder. They had previously been wanted for second-degree murder.
The OPP believes Kennedy may be in New Brunswick, but say Joseph Madore could possibly be laying low in the backcountry or rural areas of BC. He has been described as dangerous with authorities warning the public not to approach if seen, but instead to immediately contact police.
Joseph Madore has been described as 34-years-old, about 6’2″tall and weighing about 189 pounds with a medium build. He has Black hair and hazel eyes as well as a number of tattoos.
Earlier this year, a residential address in Terrace was searched in connection to the case which resulted in the seizure of two firearms. At the time the OPP had said 32-year-old Lyna Du of Ottawa had be arrested and charged with accessory to murder after the fact, while in May a 46-year-old from Perth, Ontario had been arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
