One man is in custody after a spike belt was deployed to bring a quick end to a police chase in Quesnel last week.
That chase picked up after Quesnel RCMP had attempted to pull-over a known prohibited driver at around 10:00 last Thursday night.
Police were able to contain the driver to a rural area when he attempted to flee, eventually deploying the spike strip to bring the vehicle to a stop.
They believe the suspect, who has a lengthy history of property crime, to have been under the influence of drugs at the time.
He is now facing several charges of breach of probation and conditions, one of flight from police, and a possible count for operating a vehicle while impaired.
