Dan Lowndes the Superintendent with school district 28 put put a press release yesterday.
Following a school bus crash that happened around 2:40pm yesterday March 30th.
The Barlow Creek Fire department along with BC Ambulance Service responded to a school bus incident.
As bus #45 was transporting students from Barlow Creek Elementary to their homes at the end of the school day when the bus was involved in a single vehicle incident resulting in the bus being tipped on its side on the edge of the Barkerville Hwy.
No injuries were initially reported to the RCMP at the scene.
Dan said as the situation unfolded, and out of an abundance of caution, a few students and the bus driver were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
And a second bus was dispatched to transport students; these students have all returned safely to their families.
Dan alos said thankfully, bus incidents like this are rare, and they can understandably be a scary event for students, families and staff.
Extra counselling support will be available at Barlow Creek school today, and the district will be responsive to student and family needs as much as possible.
