A woman from Terrace has died following a head-on collision on Highway 37 north of Kitimat.
Kitimat RCMP say officers responded to the crash at approximately 4:07 p.m. on Monday, June 29. The collision occurred about 25 kilometres north of Kitimat.
According to police, a northbound Toyota 4Runner collided head-on with a southbound Honda Ridgeline.
The driver of the Honda Ridgeline and the driver of the Toyota 4Runner both sustained serious injuries and were transported to hospital for treatment.
A female passenger in the Honda Ridgeline, who was from Terrace, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the cause of the collision has not yet been determined.
“The investigation is in its infancy, and causal factors are not yet known,” said Staff Sergeant Graham Morgan of the Kitimat RCMP in a news release.
Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the driving behaviour of either vehicle before the collision, or who has dashcam, CCTV, or other video footage of the incident, to contact Kitimat RCMP at 250-632-7111.
The investigation remains ongoing.
