Prince Rupert residents will soon be able to enjoy a gorgeous view while having a fantastic meal at a former eyesore.
Wheelhouse Brewing Company has announced that they will be moving in to the old downtown CN Rail Station, overlooking the waterfront.
The 100 year old, 7,200 square foot, heritage building will be redeveloped in to a modern restaurant and brewery, complete with a covered patio.
Major structural, mechanical, and electrical upgrades will be made to revitalize the building, in addition to cosmetic upgrades.
Partial solar power will also help to lessen the new building’s environmental impact.
Construction of the new Wheelhouse Brewing facility is expected to wrap up by October of next year.
In total, the project carries a 5.3 million dollar price tag, the majority of which is paid for by grant funding.
